MaxPreps Top 10 high school football Games of the Week

Four of the nation's top five teams are in for major tests this week. Also, De La Salle heads to Texas.

This season's first edition of the MaxPreps Top 10 High School Football Games of the Week goes 10-for-10 with games that involve nationally ranked teams.

Four of the top five squads in the latest MaxPreps Xcellent 25 are previewed this week, including No. 3 Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) as it hosts No. 16 Chandler (Ariz.). Gorman is trying to extend a 24-game winning streak and improve to 14-3 versus out-of-state opponents since 2012.

Meanwhile, top-ranked De La Salle (Concord, Calif.) is in Texas for the first time, opening against perennial Dallas-Fort Worth power Trinity (Euless). Second-ranked Miami Central will be just outside the nation's capital for a clash against No. 14 DeMatha (Hyattsville, Md.). No. 5 DeSoto (Texas) gets to open the season at home as it battles state-ranked Martin (Arlington).
