Flag Football Recap: Evergreen Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Saturday just wasn't the day for Evergreen's offense. They had to suffer through a 45-0 loss at the hands of the Green Mountain Rams. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Cougars, who until this contest were averaging 14.29 points allowed.

Even if they lost, Evergreen's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Lyla Willoughby and Devyn Ellington, who racked up all four sacks between them. Willoughby is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as she's now posted two or more in each of the last four games she's played.

It was another big night for Marissa VanGuilder, who picked up 117 receiving yards and four touchdowns for Green Mountain. Thanks to that big game, VanGuilder is now up to 23 receiving touchdowns on the season.

Evergreen's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-3. As for Green Mountain, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

Evergreen wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 14-8 win against Standley Lake on the 30th. As for Green Mountain, they have also already played their next game, a 34-30 loss against Chatfield on the 29th.
