Basketball Recap: Westlake Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Westlake Christian Academy was the 57-50 winner over Heritage Christian when they last played one another back in January of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. The Westlake Christian Academy Eagles fell to the Heritage Christian Defenders 46-40.

Despite the loss, Westlake Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Caleb Nieze, who went 10 of 17 en route to 22 points along with five assists and five boards. The dominant performance gave Nieze a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cody Lovelace, who posted six points and six rebounds.

Westlake Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Heritage Christian, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-6.

Westlake Christian Academy will take on Mooseheart at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Westlake Christian Academy is facing Mooseheart at the right time seeing as Mooseheart is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Heritage Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Kankakee Trinity Academy at 7:15 p.m.
