Softball Recap: Mechanicsville Mustangs vs. Clover Hill Cavaliers
Mechanicsville was the 6-1 winner over Clover Hill when they last played one another back in May of 2017, but their luck changed this time around. The Mechanicsville Mustangs lost 13-7 to the Clover Hill Cavaliers on Monday. Mechanicsville has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Mckinley Duke and Maddie Goad stepped up to the plate in a big way. Duke scored a run while going 3-for-4, while Goad went 2-for-4 with a home run. Another player making a difference was Baylor Hughes, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Mechanicsville's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Clover Hill, their win bumped their record up to 5-7-1.
Mechanicsville has the luxury of staying home for another game and will welcome Monacan at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Clover Hill, they will head out on the road to challenge Huguenot at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
