Baseball Recap: Beaumont Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Aquinas, Beaumont was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Notre Dame Titans by a score of 7-4. The Cougars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Titans, too.

Aiden Miranda looked comfortable as he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Jordan Ojeda was incredible, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Matt Kubotsu, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Beaumont's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Notre Dame, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beaumont will square off against Poly at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Notre Dame, they will challenge Valley View at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Valley View is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
