Softball Recap: Sunnyside Gets the Win

Sunnyside's tournament run continued when they took on South Hills on Saturday. The Sunnyside Blue Devils walked away with a 5-2 victory over the South Hills Huskies. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blue Devils.

Ashley Rosthenhausler made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed six innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. Rosthenhausler was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.

Rosthenhausler wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Tatyana Vega, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Arianna Garcia also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Sunnyside's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for South Hills, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4-1.

Sunnyside has already played their next match, a 7-1 victory against Saugus on the 8th. As for South Hills, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 9-5 win against Hamilton on the 8th.
