Soccer Game Preview: Excelsior Classical Academy vs. Henderson Collegiate

The Excelsior Classical Academy Flying Lions will take on the Henderson Collegiate Pride at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Excelsior Classical Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.2 goals per game this season.

Excelsior Classical Academy is coming into the matchup fresh off a high-scoring shootout with Vance Charter that saw the pair combine for 26 shots on goal. The Flying Lions came out on top against the Knights by a score of 4-2 last Tuesday. Excelsior Classical Academy haven't had any issues with Vance Charter recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Joel Doriocourt and Kevin Fernandez scored all four of Excelsior Classical Academy's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 26 goals.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Henderson Collegiate and Oxford Prep had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Pride came up short against the Griffins on Monday, falling 5-0. The defeat continues a trend for Henderson Collegiate in their meetings with Oxford Prep: they've now lost three in a row.

Henderson Collegiate's loss dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Excelsior Classical Academy, their win bumped their record up to 17-0.

Excelsior Classical Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Henderson Collegiate when the teams last played back in September, winning 4-2. Do the Flying Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pride turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
