Basketball Recap: Eudora's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

It was fun while it lasted, but Eudora's undefeated season came to an end after eight games on Saturday. They received a blow as they fell 56-40 to the St. James Academy Thunder. The game marked the Cardinals' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. James Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Regan Becker, who went 6 of 13 on her way to 18 points in addition to seven rebounds and four blocks. Becker continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Kerwin, who went 7 for 12 en route to 16 points.

Eudora's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-1. As for St. James Academy, their victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-2.

Eudora has already played their next match (against Louisburg), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. St. James Academy will square off against Olathe Northwest at 8:15 p.m. on Thursday. St. James Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.7 points per game this season.
