Football Recap: Gosnell Pirates vs. Southside Southerners
A victory for Gosnell just wasn't in the cards on Friday as the squad wasn't able to take the lead at any point. They had to suffer through a 50-22 loss at the hands of the Southside Southerners.
Owen McLaughlin continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Southside, rushing for 166 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry, and also picking up 74 receiving yards and two touchdowns. McLaughlin is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 113 every time he's taken the field this season. Louis Calhoun made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Gosnell's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Southside, their win was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1.
