Recap: Rossville Hornets vs. North White Vikings
Winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 14 to 2 on the offensive boards, a fact the Rossville Hornets proved on Saturday. They took down North White 50-35. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Rossville.
Rossville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caden Wilson, who scored 15 points along with 4 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Wilson has scored at least 25% of Rossville's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Thompson, who scored 16 points along with 7 rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why North White lost, one person who can't be blamed is Dane Hood. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points along with 7 rebounds and 6 steals. The game was Hood's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Chandler Hood, who scored 8 points.
Rossville's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for North White, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
Rossville and Frontier will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 8th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Frontier is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. North White will take on Rensselaer Central at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Rensselaer Central is ranked 268th, while North White is ranked 270th).
