Softball Preview: Scotts Hill Lions vs. Westview Chargers

The Scotts Hill Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Westview Chargers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.

Last Friday, it was a hard-fought contest, but Scotts Hill had to settle for a 5-3 loss against Riverside. Scotts Hill has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Westview came tearing into two weeks ago's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.7 runs) and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 10-0 win. The result was nothing new for Westview, who have now won eight matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

McCall Simms made a splash while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Simms has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in ten consecutive pitching appearances.
