Basketball Game Preview: Leipsic Vikings vs. Liberty-Benton Eagles

Leipsic is 1-6 against Liberty-Benton since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Vikings will head out on the road to square off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m.

Leipsic is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Hardin Northern on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Vikings had to suffer through a 49-21 loss at the hands of the Polar Bears. The Vikings were down 35-15 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Meanwhile, Liberty-Benton had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victors by a 63-41 margin over Arcadia on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Redskins: they've now won seven in a row.

Things could have been worse for Leipsic, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 61-47 loss to Liberty-Benton when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
