Softball Recap: Sharpsville Picks Up Eighth Straight Win at Home

Sharpsville put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Monday. They never let the Mercer Mustangs get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory. This was a revenge game for the Blue Devils: when they faced off against the Mustangs on April 9th, they had to take a 8-4 loss.

Not much got past Jordan Brest, who gave up just four hits to keep Mercer off the board.

At the plate, Lily Palko was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Emma Brest, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Sharpsville pushed their record up to 9-4 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Mercer, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.
