Volleyball Game Preview: Chaparral Pumas vs. Vista Murrieta Broncos

Chaparral is 0-8 against Vista Murrieta since April of 2021 but things could change on Monday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:30 p.m. Chaparral will be strutting in after a win while Vista Murrieta will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Chaparral turned things around against Murrieta Valley last Wednesday. They came out on top against the Nighthawks by a score of 3-1.

Chaparral had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-16, 25-22, 26-24.

Meanwhile, Vista Murrieta came up short against Santiago on Friday and fell 3-1. The Broncos have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Vista Murrieta had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 21-25, 25-20, 25-21.

Vista Murrieta's defeat dropped their record down to 13-17. As for Chaparral, they pushed their record up to 13-10 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Chaparral couldn't quite get it done against Vista Murrieta when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the Pumas avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
