Baseball Recap: Kennedy Beats Hubbard for Their Third Straight Win

Kennedy extended their winning streak to three on Wednesday, bumping their season record up to 12-7 in the process. Everything went their way against the Hubbard Greyhounds as they made off with a 14-2 win. Considering the Crusaders have won seven games by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Issac Quintanilla made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Quintanilla was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Christian Estreda was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted over his last six matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Zavala, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Kennedy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hubbard only posted an OBP of .423.

As for Hubbard, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-4-1. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for they, who until this contest were averaging three runs allowed.

On Hubbard's side, Ricardo Romo was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI.

Coming up, Kennedy will take on Lake View at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hubbard, they will square off against Little Village at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Greyhounds 3, the Phoenix 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
