Recap: Cherokee Indians vs. Brookesmith Mustangs
After a string of three wins, the Cherokee Indians's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Brookesmith by a score of 47-45. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Cherokee of the 42-33 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
Trey Toft continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Brookesmith, scoring 18 points. Toft is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last ten games he's played. Another player making a difference was Orgil Jargalsaikhan, who scored 11 points.
Cherokee dropped their record down to 4-4 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Brookesmith, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 19 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Rochelle the next time they take the court. Brookesmith will head out to face Rochelle at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Cherokee will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th.
