Basketball Game Preview: Warden Cougars vs. Highland Scots

The Warden Cougars will square off against the Highland Scots at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Last Wednesday, Warden had to suffer through a 65-35 loss at the hands of Mabton. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 259th, while the Vikings are ranked 64th).

Meanwhile, Highland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were beaten by Cle Elum-Roslyn 66-7.

Highland's defeat dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Warden, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Warden against Highland when the teams last played back in December of 2023, as the team secured a 70-19 victory. Does Warden have another victory up their sleeve, or will Highland turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
