Basketball Game Preview: Rankin Red Devils vs. Water Valley Wildcats

Having just played yesterday, the Rankin Red Devils will jump right back in to play the Water Valley Wildcats at 11:40 a.m. on Saturday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Rankin is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Garden City just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They received a blow as they fell 44-30 to the Bearkats. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 794th, while the Bearkats are ranked 332nd).

Meanwhile, Water Valley suffered their biggest defeat since February 2nd last Friday. They came up short against Blackwell, falling 59-34.

Water Valley's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Rankin, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.

Rankin might still be hurting after the 64-39 loss they got from Water Valley in their previous meeting back in November of 2016. Can Rankin avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
