Softball Recap: Dr. Maya Angelou Community Takes a Loss

Dr. Maya Angelou Community extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 6-6 in the process. They lost 20-3 to the Santee Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-4 back in April.

As for Santee, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by eight runs or more this season.

For Santee's part, they got a massive performance out of Julissa Castillo, who fired off two home runs, three stolen bases, and three runs while going 3-for-5. Castillo is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Rose Reyes, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four stolen bases, and three runs.

As of now, neither Dr. Maya Angelou Community nor Santee have any future games scheduled.
