Baseball Recap: Melbourne Central Catholic Triumphs

Melbourne Central Catholic won the last time they faced Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Melbourne Central Catholic Hustlers won by a run and slipped past the Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy Tigers 2-1. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Hustlers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Thomas Chiuchiolo made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has become a key player for Melbourne Central Catholic: the team is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-4 otherwise. Chiuchiolo was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Chiuchiolo wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cole Carroll, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that Carroll hit this season.

Melbourne Central Catholic's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.

Looking ahead, Melbourne Central Catholic will square off against Benjamin at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy Tigers duke it out with Merritt Island Christian Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on March 25th.
