Soccer Recap: Yuma Comes Up Short

If Yuma was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Desert Sunrise on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Criminals fell 5-3 to the Tempe Buffaloes on Friday. While losing is never fun, Yuma can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 147th, while Tempe are ranked 49th).

Yuma's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Tempe, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Yuma will face off against rival Coronado at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Tempe is set to take on their familiar foe Cortez at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
