Soccer Game Preview: Kellam vs. Cox

The Kellam Knights will challenge the Cox Falcons at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Kellam's defense has only allowed 0.3 goals per game this season, so Cox's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Kellam had been on a four-game streak of scoring at least four goals, but Ocean Lakes put an end to it on Friday. The Knights fell just short of the Dolphins by a score of 1-0. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Kellam came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked first, while Ocean Lakes are ranked 26th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cox). They never let Green Run get on the board and left with a 7-0 win on Friday. Cox haven't had any issues with Green Run recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Cox now has a winning record of 2-1-5. As for Kellam, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1-1.
