Football Recap: Brookfield Central Comes Up Short

Brookfield Central played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 49-23 to the Marquette University Hilltoppers. The Lancers have struggled against the Hilltoppers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Brookfield Central lost, don't look at AJ Seymour. Despite the final result, he rushed for 212 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.1 yards per carry, and also threw for 108 yards on seven of 18 attempts. Seymour really tore up the turf during one magnificent 72-yard run.

Brookfield Central now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Marquette University, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brookfield Central will take on Kettle Moraine at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Marquette University, they will face off against Menomonee Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
