Brook Hill has gone 7-1 against Grace Community recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Guard will face off against the Cougars at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Brook Hill has ten straight victories, Grace Community has nine straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Brook Hill is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Brentwood Christian with a sharp 34-0 win on Friday. Give the Guard's pitching crew some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Ava Pitts was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in six of her seven plate appearances with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Carli Hays looked comfortable as she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits any time she's pitched this season.
Back at the plate, Player #4 was incredible, getting on base in six of her seven plate appearances with five runs, six RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Player #11, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Brook Hill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .770. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Grace Community took on Hyde Park on Friday. The Cougars might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 17-7 to the Panthers, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Surprisingly, this marked the third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.
Brook Hill's record now sits at 11-1-1. As for Grace Community, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
Everything went Brook Hill's way against Grace Community in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, as Brook Hill made off with a 23-5 victory. Will the Guard repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
