Basketball Game Preview: Lutheran Crusaders vs. Rockford Christian Royal Lions

Lutheran and Rockford Christian are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2021, but not for long. Having just played yesterday, the Lutheran Crusaders will jump right back in to play the Rockford Christian Royal Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Lutheran's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven matches.

Lutheran took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 66-54 win over Winnebago.

Meanwhile, Rockford Christian came up short against Riverdale on Saturday and fell 80-70.

Lutheran's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-11. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.2 points per game. As for Rockford Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-2.

Lutheran came up short against Rockford Christian when the teams last played on January 13th, falling 87-78. Can Lutheran avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
