Basketball Game Preview: First Baptist Crusaders vs. Immanuel Lutheran Trojans

The First Baptist Crusaders just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Immanuel Lutheran Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. First Baptist has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

First Baptist's usually-dominant defense will be looking to make up for Monday's struggle, when Community Christian offense got past them. First Baptist took a 57-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Community Christian. The Crusaders haven't had much luck with Community Christian recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Despite the defeat, First Baptist got top-tier performance from Lydia Wynja, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds. That was a full 40.4% of First Baptist's points, marking the 14th time in a row Wynja has posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jada McKinney, who put up 12 points in addition to five assists and three steals.

Even though they lost, First Baptist smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

Meanwhile, Immanuel Lutheran gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener back in January. They claimed a resounding 70-42 win over Lake Region Christian. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 70-42.

First Baptist's loss dropped their record down to 20-5. As for Immanuel Lutheran, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
