Football Recap: Vincent Falls to Winterboro in First Game of Season

Vincent unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took an 18-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Winterboro Bulldogs on Friday. The Yellow Jackets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Despite the loss, Vincent still got an impressive performance from Jayden Roberts, who rushed for 85 yards and one touchdown.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vincent will venture away from home to face off against Comer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Winterboro, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Central of Coosa County at 7:00 p.m. on September 5.
