League recap: Granada's Payne delivers best pitching performance from past week

East Bay league recap: 3/27/13

East Bay's top pitcher this week was Granada's Jacob Payne. Over the past week, he had one win and eight Ks.

The Matadors outpaced the rest of the league this week, as their two total wins led the league. Granada beat Tracy 11-1 and San Ramon Valley 3-0.

Granada still lead the league with just 28 base hits given up over the entire season, but California gave up the fewest hits in the league over the past week (four).

Ten batters hit over .400 this week. Leading the pack was Max Sanderson, who hit .750 by going 3-for-4.



Payne threw a shutout as he led Granada to victory over the Wolves, 3-0, on Friday. He pitched seven scoreless innings and struck out eight, while giving up five hits.
