Baseball Game Preview: Desert Christian Knights vs. Knight Hawks

The Desert Christian Knights will challenge the Knight Hawks at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Desert Christian made easy work of Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy and carried off a 14-4 win. The victory continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy: they've now won three in a row.

Jason Main was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Desert Christian got a massive performance out of Andrew Silva, who went 3-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. Logan Mount was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Desert Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy only posted an OBP of .308.

Meanwhile, Knight came into Thursday's contest having lost eight straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They won by a run and slipped past Silverado 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Knight has posted since March 8, 2024.

Desert Christian now has a winning record of 1-0-1. As for Knight, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

Desert Christian beat Knight 6-2 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Will Desert Christian repeat their success, or does Knight have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
