Basketball Game Preview: Barrington Eagles vs. Wheeler Warriors

The Barrington Eagles are taking a road trip to face off against the Wheeler Warriors at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Wheeler took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Barrington, who comes in off a win.

Barrington is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: Westerly, who was ranked 23rd at the time (Barrington was ranked tenth). Barrington managed a 68-63 win over Westerly on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Meanwhile, Wheeler came up short against Berwick Academy on Friday and fell 63-54. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wheeler's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Barrington, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4.

Everything came up roses for Barrington against Wheeler in their previous meeting back in February of 2020, as the team secured an 80-45 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Barrington since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
