Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Charlotte). Everything went their way against the La Pryor Bulldogs on Tuesday as they made off with a 12-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won eight in a row.

Josh Gaitan was a major factor no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. He has become a key player for Charlotte: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least eight strikeouts, but 3-9 otherwise. Gaitan was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three).

In other batting news, Landon Gonzales was a standout: he scored two runs while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in February. William Barahona was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Charlotte picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 5-10. As for La Pryor, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.
