Soccer Game Preview: Tri-County vs. Swain County

Tri-County hasn't had much luck against Swain County recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Jaguars will head out to take on the Maroon Devils at 6:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Tri-County is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Their defense stepped up to hand Blue Ridge Early College a 4-0 shutout on Wednesday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Tri-County considering their one-goal performance the match before.

Meanwhile, Swain County waltzed into their game on Monday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. Everything went their way against the Braves as they made off with a 9-0 win. It was an even better day for Mya Burrows-Kurr as she scored six goals for her team.

Swain County pushed their record up to 12-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 32 goals over those six contests. As for Tri-County, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-8-1.

Tri-County suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Swain County when the teams last played back in March. Can the Jaguars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
