Basketball Recap: Licking Valley Comes Up Short

Licking Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 52-46 heartbreaker at the hands of the Zanesville Blue Devils. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 43-34 back in January.

Zanesville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kamy Morgan, who posted 20 points. Those 20 points gave Morgan a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Achaia Walker, who had 15 points.

Licking Valley's loss dropped their record down to 3-19. As for Zanesville, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-17.

Licking Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Zanesville, they will square off against Steubenville at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
