Volleyball Recap: Redlands East Valley Takes a Loss

Redlands East Valley lost against Yucaipa last Thursday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Thunderbirds by a score of 2-1.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Redlands East Valley sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-16, 24-26, 15-10.

Mark Huynh paced Redlands East Valley's offense, picking up 12 kills. Huynh got some help from Giovanni Carissimi and his 24 assists. Huynh was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Redlands East Valley dropped their record down to 4-17 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road. As for Yucaipa, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-10.

Coincidentally, Redlands East Valley and Yucaipa will both be playing Redlands the next time they take the court. The Wildcats will head out to face the Terriers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Thunderbirds will play them later in the day, at 6:00 p.m.
