Softball Recap: Pima Sets Scoring Season-High Against San Carlos

Pima barely beat San Carlos the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Pima put the hurt on San Carlos with a sharp 21-7 victory on Friday. The Roughriders' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Pima got a massive performance out of Tatum Brinkerhoff, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave Brinkerhoff a new career-high. Bivianna Vega was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Pima always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in five consecutive matches.

Pima's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for San Carlos, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pima will face off against Willcox at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for San Carlos, they will head out to take on Fort Thomas at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
