Baseball Game Preview: Hillcrest Rams vs. Belton-Honea Path Bears

The Hillcrest Rams will take on the Belton-Honea Path Bears in a tournament on Saturday. Hillcrest will be strutting in after a victory while Belton-Honea Path will be coming in after a defeat.

Hillcrest will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs last Tuesday, then bounced right back against Christ Church Episcopal on Friday. Everything went Hillcrest's way against Christ Church Episcopal as Hillcrest made off with an 11-1 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Rams' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Meanwhile, Belton-Honea Path came up short against Seneca on Tuesday and fell 9-5. The Bears haven't had much luck with the Bobcats recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Belton-Honea Path saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Preston Dixon, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Hillcrest's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-0-2. As for Belton-Honea Path, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
