Baseball Game Preview: Fannett Metal vs. Everett Warriors

Fannett Metal will head out on the road to face off against the Everett Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Fannett Metal's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Everett's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Everett will be up against a hot Fannett Metal squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Fannett Metal put the hurt on Forbes Road with a sharp 15-5 win on Friday. Fannett Metal might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.

Fannett Metal let Landon Arnold and Jake Coffman run wild. Arnold went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI, while Coffman went 2-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI Coffman has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Tucker Seibert, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Everett's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of Bedford by a score of 6-5. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 17, 2019, but that streak is no more.

Cody Spade was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Tyson Grove also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Everett's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Fannett Metal, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.

Fannett Metal took their win against Everett in their previous matchup on April 3rd by a conclusive 7-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fannett Metal since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
