Volleyball Recap: Torrington Takes a Loss

Torrington lost against Wolcott back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Raiders came up short against the Eagles, falling 3-0. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Torrington was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Wolcott work for it, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-18, 27-25, 25-22.

Despite the defeat, Torrington saw an underclassman step up: freshman Piper Robinson had 13 digs and four assists.

Torrington's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Wolcott, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Torrington will challenge rival Waterbury Career Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Wolcott is set to square off against their familiar foe Naugatuck at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
