If Rancho Alamitos wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Estancia, they should've done a better job of containing Jeff Brown. The Eagles walked away with a 25-17 win over the Vaqueros on Friday for which the team can thank Brown, who rushed for 150 yards and two scores, and also picked up 31 receiving yards. His rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 140 rushing yards.

One reason for the win was Estancia's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Carlos Vasquez and Andrew Ventura, who racked up four sacks between them. Brandon Bettinghausen got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Estancia's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Rancho Alamitos, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Estancia will face off against rival Calvary Chapel at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Estancia 12.7, Calvary Chapel 11.3) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Rancho Alamitos is set to challenge their familiar foe Los Amigos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
