Marshall was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Friday as the team picked up their third straight  defeat. They fell  35-28 to the Lincoln Tigers. The Barristers were not able to make up for their  loss to the Tigers from their previous meeting  back in November of 2024.
Despite the loss, Marshall still got an impressive performance from   Nathaniel Cadet, who rushed for 34 yards and a pair of  scores, and also threw for 160 yards and one  TD.
 Even if they lost, Marshall's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess:  James Hibbs,  Mohamed Ali El-Yassimi,  and  Enzo Meres, who each picked up one  sack apiece.
  Andrew Evangelista continued  his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lincoln, throwing for 305 yards and three  touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 62 yards and one  TD. Evangelista's passing game has become a key predictor of the Tigers' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. A healthy portion of  Evangelista's aerial production (112 yards to be exact)  went to  Andres Pereda, who also brought in a  receiving touchdown.
Marshall's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Lincoln,  the  victory made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 7-2.
 Coming up, Marshall will face off against Wilson at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The Barristers will be up against the Mules' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.44  points per  matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Lincoln, they will square off against Franklin at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The Tigers will be up against the Panthers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 26.89  points per  game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
