Volleyball Recap: Glencoe Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Gracyn Bunt and Avery Barkley

It was a good run, but Glencoe unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Pleasant Valley Raiders by a score of 2-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 on Saturday.

Glencoe started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-23, 15-11.

Despite the loss, Glencoe had strong showings from Avery Barkley, who had 18 assists and five digs, and Gracyn Bunt, who had 11 digs. Bunt has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last four times she's played.

Glencoe's defeat dropped their record down to 30-15. As for Pleasant Valley, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 27-13.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Glencoe will face off against Westbrook Christian at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pleasant Valley, they will square off against Gaston at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
