Basketball Game Preview: Chowchilla Tribe vs. Parlier Panthers

Chowchilla is on a four-game streak of home losses, Parlier a ten-game streak of away losses dating back to last season, but someone's luck will change on Friday. The Chowchilla Tribe will welcome the Parlier Panthers at 8:00 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Tuesday, Chowchilla lost to Sierra at home by a 70-56 margin. While losing is never fun, the Tribe can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1047th, while the Chieftains are ranked 504th).

Meanwhile, Parlier played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 91-34 loss at the hands of Liberty. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-23.

Parlier's loss dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Chowchilla, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-11.

Everything came up roses for Chowchilla against Parlier in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 72-40 win. Will Chowchilla repeat their success, or does Parlier have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
