Basketball Recap: William Yeiter's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Crosspointe Christian Academy over Calvary Christian

Crosspointe Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. The match between them and the Calvary Christian EAGLES didn't end well, with the Crosspointe Christian Academy Panthers falling 68-53. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the EAGLES this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 54-45 back in December of 2024.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was William Yeiter, who went 7-for-15 en route to 18 points and five assists. The dominant performance also gave Yeiter a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (67%). Phil Fitzsimmons was another key player, dropping a double-double with 15 points and 12 boards.

Crosspointe Christian Academy now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Calvary Christian, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-6.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Crosspointe Christian Academy will host Tabernacle Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Calvary Christian, they will venture away from home to challenge Heritage Hall Christian at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
