Football Game Preview: Grosse Pointe South Blue Devils vs. Roseville Panthers + How To Watch

The Grosse Pointe South Blue Devils will square off against the Roseville Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Grosse Pointe South will be strutting in after a victory while Roseville will be coming in after a defeat.

Grosse Pointe South is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Grosse Pointe North: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Blue Devils blew the Norsemen out of the water with a 44-7 final score. The Blue Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by 21 points or more this season.

Grosse Pointe South can attribute much of their success to Charlie Michelotti, who rushed for 130 yards and three TDs on only 13 carries, and Sam Rouleau, who rushed for 95 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Michelotti a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Trey Grabowski, who gained 71 total yards and a touchdown.

Grosse Pointe South didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Grabowski and Zach Wilson, who each picked up one interception apiece.

Meanwhile, Roseville played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against West Bloomfield, falling 28-7. Despite 78 more yards than the Lakers, the Panthers couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

The win made it two in a row for Grosse Pointe South and bumps their season record up to 8-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 21 points in those games. As for Roseville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.
