Basketball Recap: Buena Comes Up Short

Buena was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a blow against the Oxnard Yellowjackets, falling 74-30. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 774th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 75th).

Buena's defeat dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Oxnard, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-5.

Buena will host Santa Barbara at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Santa Barbara's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine matches. As for Oxnard, they are taking a road trip to face off against San Marcos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Oxnard has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
