Having struggled with seven losses in a row, Northbrook turned things around against Cypress Falls on Friday. They came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 12-7.

Rosie Ruelas made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off eight hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (four). She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jodi Villalobos, who scored two runs while going 3-for-5. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Daisy Padron was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Cypress Ridge, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-2 win over Cypress Creek on Friday.
Like Northbrook, Cypress Ridge also got a great game from a two-way player: Ariel Arambula. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Arambula was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run.
In other batting news, Edelin Barrios was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Christiana Palacios, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
Cypress Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 5-13. As for Northbrook, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-9 and their overall record up to 5-14.
Cypress Ridge's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Northbrook has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .437. It's a different story for Cypress Ridge, though, as they've only averaged .346. Will they be able to contain Northbrook's hitters?
