The Babcock Trailblazers will venture away from home to take on the Mason Classical Academy Paladins at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Babcock is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Babcock came up short against Lakewood Ranch Preparatory Academy and fell 9-5. The Trailblazers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Babcock saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rayden Waletko, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That double marked the first that Waletko hit this season.

Waletko wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Babcock kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for Babcock: they were averaging 5.4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 9.2.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mason Classical Academy). They blew past Naples Classical 19-6 on Thursday.

The team relied heavily on Hudson Winegar, who scored five runs and stole three bases while going 4-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Lichter, who scored two runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-4.

Babcock's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Mason Classical Academy, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.

Babcock took their victory against Mason Classical Academy in their previous meeting on March 6th by a conclusive 16-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Babcock since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
