Soccer Recap: Santa Maria Comes Up Short

Santa Maria was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Paso Robles Bearcats. The Saints were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bearcats earlier this season, when they won 5-0.

Santa Maria's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7-2. As for Paso Robles, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Santa Maria has already played their next contest (against Pioneer Valley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Paso Robles will challenge Arroyo Grande at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Paso Robles' last four matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
