Basketball Recap: Southland Christian Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

On Thursday, the Southland Christian FLAMES strolled past the DME Academy Gold - with points to spare, taking the game 75-61. Given the FLAMES's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 66th, while the - are ranked 418th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The game was his 11th in a row with at least ten points. Yasdiel Rodriguez was another key player, going 6 of 10 on his way to 16 points and seven steals.

Southland Christian's win bumped their record up to 18-2. As for DME Academy Gold, they dropped their record down to 2-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.
