Basketball Recap: Spanish Fork's Win Ends 11-Game Losing Streak on the Road

If Park City wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Spanish Fork, they should've done a better job of containing Gage Christensen. The Spanish Fork Dons blew past the Park City Miners 85-64 on Friday thanks in part to Christensen, who went 6 of 9 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points. The match was his fifth in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Brock Jacobson, who went 5 for 7 on his way to 10 points and three steals. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in assists (four).

Spanish Fork's victory ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-8. As for Park City, they dropped their record down to 3-10 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Spanish Fork will face off against Maple Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on January 10th. As for Park City, they will challenge Ben Lomond at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Ben Lomond is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.8 points per game this season.
